Noor means "light" in Arabic. It is one of the most beautiful words in the language — and one of the most fitting for this neighborhood. The Albaicin was shaped by the Moors over a thousand years ago, and their influence still lives in every whitewashed wall, every hidden garden, every narrow street that catches the afternoon sun at just the right angle.
We chose the name because it reflects what we believe a great stay should feel like: illuminating. Not just a place to sleep, but a way of seeing a city differently — through the eyes of someone who lives here.
Diego Fernandez has lived in Granada all his life — but he has seen the world. Years spent living across Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America taught him what makes the difference between a place you visit and a place you truly know: it is always a person. Someone who knows which street to walk down, which table to sit at, which hour to arrive.
In 2024, Diego founded Noor Apartments to bring that philosophy home. Every apartment in the collection was chosen not just for its beauty or location, but for the experience it enables — and every guest receives the kind of local knowledge that only comes from someone who has called the Albaicin home for decades.
